Louie Skaggs aka Mantecha Music was born in Brooklyn, first-generation Dominican American.  He began his journey through the rap game with fellow Brooklynites from the group called the BackBlocks most of who hail from Flatbush Brooklyn. Together with his BackBlocks fam he went on to do several local showcases building a neighborhood buzz, even gaining the attention of Hip-Hop’s legendary producer EZ Moe Bee, as well as Supreme of the Representatives.  

Unfortunately hood fame was short lived when Louie was arrested and had to spend a year in jail. He maintained his love for the art and worked on his skill. When his bid was done he met up with General Steele of Smif n Wessun/ BootCamp Clik. Under the guidance of the General, Louie went on to be featured on two General Steele albums, "Welcome To Bucktown" & "Amerikkka’s Nightmare Part 2" released on Bucktown USA Entertainment/ DuckDown Records. 

He is currently promoting his Street CD entitled "My Life in Rhyme" where he gives you a first hand account of some of his hood tales and life lessons. He even shows his diversity when he switches up his rap to his native tongue on songs like "La Calle". He is sure to keep you captivated with his lyrics and entertained with his humor and wit. Louie Skaggs will definitely be one to watch for amongst the new up and coming artist in 2012.
